I have been a Prosthetic case manager for two years and it is the most rewarding and humbling job I have ever had. I truly have the best job ever! My patients inspire me everyday, and my team motivates me to be the best version of myself. Being with my patient’s through one of their toughest times, comforting them, listening to them and just being there to support them through this journey. It makes me want to be better, do better and work harder! Outside of work I love spending time with my family going to church, football games and making memories. I like the outdoors, traveling and taking pictures. Nothing like capturing the moment!

Get to know Shomari!

Friends call me Sho, like “FoSho”. I’m from the west coast of California/Nevada. My personality is nonchalant and direct. I give straight forward answers with personalized care catered to each individual. I love answering odd and abnormal questions related to your prosthetic journey. Orthotics & Prosthetics is what I dedicated my life to, and I hope we can find time to meet each other.

When did you get into the O&P field?

Through Loma Linda University we receive a Masters in Orthotics & Prosthetics. During the graduate program itself, I worked as an Orthotic fitter servicing folks in clinic, in/out patient rehabilitation, and hospital settings. Prior to this, my background has

What do you like about your career or what you specifically do?

My mission statement has been: “To make man whole”. This was my school motto and I carry that with me to this day. Simply, I’ve dedicated my heart to it. I enjoy getting folks back to their lives and I will meet you where you’re at both physically and mentally.

Any personal hobbies?

I’m a bit of an adrenaline seeker. I skydive, bungee jump, and all sorts of crazy things. I also enjoy exploring new places!

How long have you been in O&P? 7 years

What do you love you about your job? See the face of patient standing upright for the first time. 

I joined the O&P field about five months ago as a Prosthetic Case Manager. Before that, I worked in customer service, where I developed a strong passion for helping people and providing excellent patient care. As a Prosthetic Case Manager, I enjoy supporting patients throughout their care journey and helping make the process as smooth as possible. My favorite part of the job is working directly with patients, building relationships, and making a positive difference in their experience. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. They are my biggest priority, and I love making memories with them whenever I can.

What do you like about you career?

The rewards of seeing children walk for the first time, or gain some independence are beyond words. Seeing the joy on the little one’s faces and their parents are a feeling that would be too difficult to explain. Helping giving back to our community and using the skills God gave me to help others.

Personal hobbies: Motorcycles, classic cars, hiking, fishing and time with family and my dog…not necessarily in that order.

When did you get into the O&P field?

I started in the O&P field June 2019.

What do you like about your career or what you specifically do?

I was drawn to orthotics and prosthetics with a desire to help people. As a clinician, I love to work with all of my orthotic and prosthetic patients, and especially my pediatric and prosthetic patients.

Any personal hobbies?

I love to play tennis, basketball, and soccer. I also enjoy watching sports, playing video games, and reading.

What do you love you about your job? My co-workers and my patients. I really enjoy working with pediatric and prosthetic patients.
